Lou 's Skydive for our Alfie (o`neill)
Hi, all you lovely people out there!
Please sponsor me now!
There`s no going back!!!!
Alfie O'Neill is a wonderful, 4 year old boy who brings a lot joy to everyone who knows him.
Unfortunately, Alfie was born prematurely and as a result suffers from cerebral palsy which has confined him to a wheelchair. Alfie's parents are loving and dedicated to giving him the best possible start in life, and, as a result of their commitment to his future, Alfie is now considered a candidate for SDR (selective dorsal rhizotomy) surgery which would see him walk for the first time.
Although this surgery has been performed by Dr Park in Missouri with a 100% success rate for the past 30 years, it is not currently funded by our local NHS Primary Care Trust, and so £50,000 is needed to fund this life-changing operation, as well as the intensive post-operative physiotherapy required.
Alfie started school this year, and has made some great friends as well as continuing to increase his strength to enable the surgery to go ahead. But it is tough on Alfie, and heartbreaking for his parents, to have to watch in frustration as his friends play in the playground and walk home from school while he is not strong enough to do the same.
As a community, it is our most heartfelt wish this Christmas that we raise the money Alfie needs to walk and run and play and enjoy his childhood and his future, and not have this restricted simply from lack of funds.
We are holding numerous fundraising events for Alfie including a Christmas Party with Santa's Grotto, Kids New Year's Eve Party and a family music festival in the Spring, and we will not give up until we see Alfie walk.
So please, show Alfie the kind of support you hope your kids would receive if they were in this position, and dig just as deep as you can...and in a few days / weeks / months, come back and dig some more!!
Please DONATE NOW and help us to change a little boy's life!!!
