At the southern end of one of the world's most exciting continents lies South Africa! Alive with wildlife, traditions and jaw-dropping landscapes we begin our journey in the vibrant capital of Cape Town! From there we head off into the bush for an unforgettable journey over mountain passes and open woodland before we return to celebrate by trekking the iconic Table Mountain. This will undoubtedly be one of the most rewarding and unforgettable experiences of your life!

Day 1
London

Day 2
Cape Town: On arrival in Cape Town we will transfer to our overnight accommodation.

Day 3
Cape Town to Swartberg: We depart Cape Town early heading to the town of Oudtshoorn via the very scenic Route 62. We take a short hike to the beautiful Mellville waterfall.

Day 4
Swartberg Hiking Trail: A short transfer to Ou Tol starts our day to day. We take the Kruin Route where we are treated to open woodland. We arrive at our spectacular home for the evening at Bothashoek Hut.

Day 5
Swartberg Hiking Trail: We hike from Bothashoek Hut to Gouekrans Hut situated close to some fantastic rock pools taking in spectacular mountain terrain en route.

Day 6
Swartberg Hiking Trail: We descend to De Hoek via the spectacular Plooiberg or “wrinkle mountain”. We enjoy our last night out in the bush before returning to Cape Town tomorrow with a traditional South African braai, known to us as a BBQ.

Day 7
Transfer to Cape Town: We make our way back to Cape Town. The afternoon will be free to explore the city.

Day 8
Table Mountain Hike: What better way to finish our trek but to climb the famous landmark of Table Mountain which towers over Cape Town. The views from here are breathtaking and a real reason to celebrate!

Day 9
Cape Town: Depending on departure times there will be free time before we transfer to the airport and wave goodbye to South Africa.

Arrive in London

Is the trip for me?

Definitely! This trip is suitable for people of all ages. The one thing everyone has in common is a sense of adventure and the desire to do something challenging for a great cause! How fit do I need to be?

People from all walks of life will take part in this challenge and most people will be exactly like you. But it's vital that you train so that you get he most out of the trek. We will send you a suggested training plan and are on hand to help you with your training tips.

How much do I have to raise?

£3,300

Will I be able to raise the sponsorship level?

YES! Once you have started you will find that raising the minimum sponsorship is easy and most importantly fun! We will provide you with a breakdown of examples of how to raise the sponsorship money in an enjoyable way and we will of course be available every day to help you with more ideas! You are doing something quite simply amazing so make sure you tell everyone you know, and before you know it you will be racing towards your fundraising target!

Can I extend my trip?

Yes! For a nominal administration fee your flight can be extended (subject to availability). This will give you the opportunity to discover more of this amazing country independently.

Will you help me?

YES! One of our highly experienced tour reps will be on hand to help you in the lead up to the event. You will be sent a full confirmation pack shortly after you register on the event which will give you all the information you need but we are always here to make the event as enjoyable and hassle free as possible! And there will even be the opportunity to meet your fellow participants at a special gathering before the event!

What is the food like?

You'll enjoy tasty local dishes such as rice, chicken & pork plus lots of coffee! Vegetarian diets can be catered for.

What do I need to bring?

No specialist kit is required though you will need to bring a sleeping bag and of course your own comfortable walking boots. We'll send you a full packing list when you register.

What will happen to my luggage during trekking days?

Your bags will be carried either in one of the vehicles or by horses. Youll just need to carry a daypack which will have all your essentials for the day!

How many people can take part?

The average group size is about 40 people although this does vary considerably from trip to trip.

What type of accommodation will I be staying in?

Hotels either side of the trek, and tents during the trek.

What's included in the cost?

Flights and all internal travel, accommodation, all meals on trekking days, water, refreshments, guides, a doctor and medical support

Is there an age restriction?

You will need to be over 18 but there is no upper age limit. If you are over 65 will just need to get a medical form signed by your doctor.

What about insurance?

You must have travel insurance cover in order to participate in this challenge. You can either arrange this yourself (as long as your insurance company is aware of the nature of what you are doing and that it is a charity event) or we can help you arrange this.
